It was just yesterday that TWRP (a fancy schmancy touch-based recovery) saw a significant release with version 2.2 and today, ClockworkMod is celebrating similar. CWM Recovery version 6 is now officially meant for the Galaxy Nexus. Theres plenty of under-the-hood tweaks with developer Koush updating the recoverys changelog with:

New backup format that de-duplicates data between backups.Faster backups.Fixed restores > 2GB.Minor UI tweaks (new background, animated Android)

Koush also gave his plans on the way forward for the project, also talking just a little around the where he gives take/update ROM Manager.

Future: In the last, I have got merged/rebased every CWM with AOSP. With Jellybean, I have got decided this really not inside welfare of this project. There's just several patches of AOSP recovery which might be appealing (roots.c file system, minui, and updater). Those will continue to be merged into CWM. Could, doing full rebase with every code drop has been a giant headache, considering the code churn from upstream that providing little to no value to CWM. Prove useful ., this unties my hands to deviate completely from AOSP, while using the primary goal to create a a lot more polished touch UI.

ROM Manager ROM Manager may be over Year or so old, despite they have grown in features quite a lot since its first incarnation, parts are starting to point out to wear and Star N8000 + tear. Ive been contemplating a significant UI rewrite for a while now, and definately will pull the trigger on that shortly. Furthermore, i desire to include some features that we are hoping will be of some interest: * A paid ROM section for devs to create their work and support their hobby. * Upload the ROM to ROM Manager for anyone who is make use of, through the device. * Connect ROM Manager for the Recovery Builder for automatic updates of recovery. No device all but abandoned :)

Speaking of this Recovery Builder; experts agree it is pleasantly successful. To date, around 1700 recoveries have been built. Many for devices ROM Manager currently doesn't even support.

If you guys have suggestions or tips about any of Koushs many projects (ClockworkMod Recovery, ROM Manager, DeskSMS), hes encouraging everyone to fall him a line over on his Google+ page.
